Mrs. McPuppet Winter
Merry Christmas!

The magic of the season is upon us once again for all who hear the bell of Christmas ring as the book  Polar Expess reminds us.

Mrs. McPuppet and her friends are sitting around the fireplace listening to the crackle of the fire and enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas.

We wish for you and your family the joy of Christmas, and the the magic of the season to be with you all year long.

Sincerely,

Mrs. McPuppet Winter

Mrs. McPuppet Winter Our Present to You and Your Family

Holiday food is a joy for the day, but the memory of family baking time is forever.  The Christmas cookie receipe below is one that lives from my childhood and the one shared with my children.  I offer it to you to make memories with your children as a  holiday gift that will last through the years.

While you're baking cookies, surround yourself with the fun of Mrs. McPuppet music.  Click here to stop by the store and add to the fun, stuff a stocking, or fill a snow bound day with songs and family games.

Chocolate Moons and Stars
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond extract (optional)
2 1/2c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
Mix sugar and butter.  Add egg and flavorings, beat thoroughly.  Stir
in dry ingredients after mixing them together.  Chill several hours.
Roll out to about 1/4 inch (or slightly less) Cut with moon & star
cutters (or any you like).  Bake on lightly greased sheets about 7-8
minutes at 375 degrees--they should be fairly pale, just beginning to
brown on the edges.  Cool on racks.  Melt a 6 oz. bag of chocolate
chips (original recipe says to melt them with about 1 tsp. crisco or
margarine, in a double boiler, but I'm pretty sure I just melt
the chips in the microwave with out adding anything.  Spread
chocolate on top of 1 cookie and sandwich with another. ( a la oreos)
