My brother loved to fish. We'd fish in the pond near our house and in
the summer in the bay by the Jersey shore . He'd put the worm on the
hook for me,
thanks Mike!
Mother
said I liked to perform even as an infant in the woodie carriage.
My
Mother, who enjoyed photography, caught me with Raggedy Ann
having a tea party. Imagination, play, creativity, its all
tied together with a sense of wonder and joy in the middle.
The love of creativity and fun are key ingredients in what I
want to share as Mrs. McPuppet
.
I grew with love, support, appreciation
for nature, caring for others, performing for groups, and a
strong feeling of being loved.
My Grandmother played the accordion (I wish I had a picture of her
doing that). My father would play duets with me on the piano. One year
he got out his cello and what a lovely sound that made
.
and life goes on. Another generation comes into the world and family
ties remain central, love of nature, and love of performing reach into
two wonderful boys. Father, now grandfather, shares his love of
music, of nature, of family and influences the values of another
generation of children
Performing in
skating events was an early form of being "on stage" and the
excitement I feel when performing today began as a young girl on that
ice years ago .
and over time we
all grew up and moved from our parents' home and started families
of our own.
My music
continues to grow and find expression from the joys of my children,
their love of nature, their sense of family and community, their
enjoyment of performing and of the arts.
Mrs
McPuppet reflects all that made me, father, mother, family, husband,
children, friends, and community. It's my reason for being and the basis
of what it is I share with audiences as both Elizabeth McMahon and as
Mrs. McPuppet.
What
brings us all together is family whether we're the family next door, the
family of man, or the family of all living creatures. It is this feeling
for community that is at the heart of what I do as Mrs.McPuppet.
