Mrs. McPuppet's
Magic Treasure Shop

A visitor noted recently that she and her family have
treasured their one Mrs. McPuppet CD and wished there were more. As a
result we are building a bigger doorway to Mrs. McPuppet's Treasure Shop where
you can buy CDs and puppets and small furry creatures. OK, we're just kidding
about the furry creatures. Visit the shop and delight your family with all
four of Mrs. McPuppet's CDs and buy your very own puppet and find the joy of
something coming to life in your hands.

Silvery
Scene
When I looked out the window in the
middle of
the night
last week it
was a
silvery
scene. Was I
on the moon?
No, just the
first
coating of
snow, a
beautiful
surprise.
Winter is
about here
but before
we move on,
Halloween
was perfect
and I
celebrated
with a buzzy
bee and a
clown-
Charlie and
Ella. I
raked the
dry crispy
leaves into
a pile and
in they
jumped. Now,
with just
one small
slice of
pumpkin pie
sitting on
the counter,
I want to
wish you a
merry
winter. |

Gingerbread Man
With the chilly winds a blowing, it's time for the
Gingerbread
Man. The
story song
is on Tea
Party
Shuffle.
For puppets
you will
need paper
plates and a
little yarn.
1. Color in
a face on a
small paper
plate.
2. Punch
holes along
the top edge
for hair.
Cut 5"
strands of
yarn and
bend them in
half before
pushing them
through the
hole and
passing the
ends through
the loop.

3. For the
bouncy,
running
gingerbread
boy/girl
body, fold a
larger paper
plate in
half and cut
on the
circular
line. The
skinnier the
space
between the
lines, the
longer the
legs.
4. Unfold
and open it
up to see
the arms,
body and
long legs.
Color in
some buttons
and stripes
and staple
the head
onto the
body. Let
your puppet
bounce and
run for the
refrain:
"Run as
fast as you
can you can'
t catch me
I'm the
Gingerbread
Man. " |
Winter Songs
The Mitten story song
is on Blue
Sky Sparklin'
Day. Compare
my version
with Jan
Brett's.
Join hands
and do a
circle dance
for the
refrain. The
mouse and
fox puppet
patterns are
on my web
site, click
on
activities.
Snowman's
Café is
a fun song
to dance to.
Use it to
provide a
break from
desk work at
school or
just for
fun. (on Tea
Party
Shuffle.)
Shake a
leg here,
shake a leg
there
Shiver like
a snowflake
in the air.
Turn you
self around
with a thank
you and a
please
Wiggle your
toes, wobble
your knees. |
Animal Tracks
Look for
animal
tracks in
the snow.
